Our Staff

Dr. Frank Sommerer was born in Philadelphia PA and grew up in a small suburb called Willow Grove.
He graduated from Widener University in Chester, PA with degrees in both Management and Economics. While serving as his class Senator to the student body, he was awarded the Outstanding Service Award to his graduating class. At Widener, he was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, and played Varsity Lacrosse, Rugby and was captain of the Ice Hockey team.

Dr. Sommerer received his doctorate in Chiropractic degree from Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC.

Dr. Sommerer is the clinical director of Shore Pointe Chiropractic in Toms River and has been in private practice for 20 years.  He has served as team Chiropractic Physician for the Lakewood BlueClaws, the minor league affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies since their inception.He also as team Chiropractor for the Toms River East baseball program as well as a number of area high school and recreational teams and organizations.

His professional associations include being an active member in the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors Sports Injury Council,and past president and treasurer of the Monmouth Ocean County Chiropractic Society. He has overseen chiropractic care for the Ocean County Senior Olympics and area track and field events.

Civically the doctor is a member of the Seaside Italian American Club. Frank serves on the board of directors for Ocean Of Love, for children with cancer.

He resides in Toms River with his wife and three sons, and enjoys boating, fishing and coaching youth soccer and Little League baseball.

Dr. Philip Petris is a graduate of Brick High School, Brick, NJ.  After a horrible car accident, he decided to give back the gift he was given after receiving chiropractic care. Dr. Phillip Petris received a Bachelor of Science degree and a doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University in Marietta, Georgia in 1998.  He currently holds a license as a chiropractic physician in New Jersey and has been providing gentle personalized care for patients of all ages since.

Dr. Petris and his wife Alexandra are the proud parents of three children.  Dr. Petris also enjoys coaching his youth group’s basketball team, and is looking forward to participating in his children s upcoming sporting events.

His main belief is that chiropractic allows individuals a better quality of life.  Diet, exercise, positive attitude, adequate amounts of sleep, proper posture and of course maintaining  a healthy nervous system are all essential in accomplishing that way of life.
